Our Vision

Lakeside Christian Fellowship is a family of faith connecting people to Christ and to each other.

Our Prayer
"May We Be A Blessing to Lago Vista
and the Communities of the North Shore"

Volunteering Together

Lakeside Christian Fellowship can only fulfill God's purpose through a loving relationship with God, submission to His will, and a willingness to step forward by faith and trust in Him for the results as we move forward:

  • God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church.

  • God is always at work in and around our church.

  • As Lakeside Christian Fellowship obeys God, we will come to know Him by experience as He does wonderful things through us.

  • God pursues a continuing love relationship with His church that is real and personal.

  • God invites our church to become involved in His work.

  • When our church sees where God is at work, that is its invitation to join Him.

  • A church will face a crisis of belief when God invites it to become involved in a work only He can accomplish. Faith and action are required.

  • Our church is open to making major adjustments to join God in His work.

  • A church is totally dependent on God for accomplishing tasks of Kingdom value.

  • Apart from God our church can do nothing of Kingdom value.

What is God's Will For Lakeside Christian Fellowship?

Jim Christie, Director of Music

Jim has been involved with church music since before he was born.  His mother was accompanying his grandfather’s church choir while she was pregnant with him.
From this, you can tell he has always been involved in traditional church music.  Jim's family history is replete with numerous pastors and even more musicians.  His great grandparents were gospel singers traveling with their father who was a circuit riding preacher and evangelist in the Carolinas during the mid-1800s.  Jim's grandfather was a music professor at Southwestern College and (as many teachers) had additional jobs as a private music teacher, piano tuner, repairer of music instruments and church choir director.  He did all of the above (except college teaching) until his death.

Jim's college career (started at Southwestern) was as a chemistry major and public school music major.  He chose to go on to graduate school in chemistry, but continued to be very active in music, playing in city bands, university musicals and directing church youth choirs.   He also sang in adult choirs.

Jim was commissioned via ROTC and after gaining his PhD in Chemistry, went on active duty.  During his last few years, he was very active in military chaplain work, directed a choir and performed in a few religious musical presentations.

He has been the pianist/organist/choir director in about six different churches around the US, the last of which was at Rolling Hills Community Church here in Lago.

He has also been active (from college on) in various school and community musical and theater groups.  Here in Lago Vista, Jim is a past president of both the Hill Country Singers and Lake Travis Music Theater.  He is also active with Lago Vista Players and has been in 10 or more stage plays or musical productions over the past eight years in Lago Vista.

Jim now looks forward with great anticipation to this chapter of his musical career as the director of music at Lakeside Christian Fellowship
